Digital Preservation Society

The aim of the Digital Preservation Society (DPS) was to preserve the Tibetan Buddhist Canons and related literature in digital form, and make these widely available.

Since 2007 the digitizing of the Tempangma (rgyal rtse'i them spang ma/them spang ma/them spangs ma/Thempangma/them-spangs-ma) manuscript of the Kangyur and the Peking edition of the Kangyur held by the National Library of Mongolia has been undertaken as a joint project by

This joint project was coordinated by Kawachen, based in Tokyo.

This joint project was completed in April 2016.

Digital version of the Tempangma manuscript of the Kangyur and the Peking edition of the Kangyur

The Digital Preservation Society was the publisher and distributor for the digital version of the Tempangma manuscript and the Peking edition of the Kangyur that is held in the permanent collection of the National Library of Mongolia.

Along with the completion of the project, distributoin of these from DPS has also ended. Thereafter, these are available from Kawachen, based in Tokyo, Japan. 2016/8/1 Information updated along with the completion of the DPS project in April 2016.
2015/4/10 "Catalogue of the Ulan Bator rGyal rtse Them spangs ma Manuscript Kangyur" was publised on February 23, 2015 by Sankibo Busshorin. Accordingly, "Catalog of the Tempangma manuscript of the Kangyur" (PDF Version) was deleted from the Tempangma manuscript page. Information on this publication can be found here.
